Exports of the Russian agro-industrial complex in 2021 increased by 21%
The Russian Ministry of Agriculture said that the export of products of the Russian agro-industrial complex increased in 2021 by 21% compared to the previous year and amounted to $37.1 billion.
According to the ministry’s data, at the end of 2020, this indicator amounted to 30.5 billion dollars, and in 2019 the value of agricultural exports from Russia amounted to 25.6 billion dollars.
“In this way, agricultural exports exceeded the record set in 2020. During the year, Russia supplied foreign markets with more than 71 million tons of food and agricultural raw materials,” the ministry added in its statement.
Cereals retained the leading position among Russian agricultural exports, accounting for 31% of the total volume of exported items in 2021.
At the same time, in physical terms, exports of cereal crops decreased by 12% – to 43 million tons, but increased in value by 12% – to $11 billion.
