Localization and Saudization of 28 professions, limiting their owners to Saudi citizens, activating the abolition of the sponsorship system in accordance with the decisions of the Crown Prince, and creating 10,000 new jobs.
Saudization of 28 professions and activating the abolition of the sponsorship system, in continuation to the initiative to localize jobs in the Kingdom. The Saudi Minister of Transport, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Transport Authority, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, in this month, January 2022, localized the vehicle steering activity by 100%, by limiting work to Saudis, whether on vehicles or own or through establishments.
Hence, the Minister made it clear that the percentage of non-Saudis working in this activity has decreased to only 4% of the total number of workers in it, and by the current procedure, all job opportunities in the activity will be localized by 100%.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation also launched the initiative to localize jobs in the air transport sector, which aims to localize 10,000 jobs in various disciplines related to the aviation sector, which comes within the axis of strengthening the aviation sector, which is one of the goals of achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The initiative included the localization of 28 professions specialized in the field of air transport and the approval of the distribution of targets according to the executive plan developed for the three years (2022, 2023, 2024). And professions in closed commercial complexes (malls) for Saudis in all regions of the Kingdom.
Finally, the Ministry’s decisions included the establishment of the unified national platform for employment, the start of the implementation of the initiative to improve the contractual relationship and the formal abolition of the sponsorship system, in addition to announcing the wage subsidy program, and during the past year, the Ministry obligated companies recruiting domestic workers to insure contracts.
